Asia-Pacific, Middle East airports record strong growth


The Asia-Pacific and Middle East region recorded a 10.7 per cent year-on-year growth in passenger traffic in January, according to ACI Asia-Pacific figures. Almost all airportsregistered a positive result compared to January 2013 except for Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) which saw a drop in international passenger traffic of 4.1 per cent. For air cargo traffic, Asia-Pacific airports recorded a 3.8 per cent year-on-year increase in January 2014, compared to the 3.7 per cent recorded by their Middle Eastern counterparts.
