Specialised Monarch AOG response team deploys to the Maldives for Mega Maldives Airlines

Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL), the award-winning independent aircraft maintenance provider and division of The Monarch Group, has recently deployed SMART (Specialised Monarch AOG Response Team) to carry out engine repairs for Mega Maldives Airlines.
Under terms of the agreement, MAEL’s highly skilled engineers were despatched from the UK to the Maldives and successfully carried out acoustic panel repairs on the international airline of the Republic of Maldives’ Boeing 757 aircraft.
SMART operates under MAEL’s EASA 145 approval and has a highly experienced team of engineers on 24/7 standby 365 days a year.
Derek Gibson, Compliance and Service Delivery Director for MAEL, said: “We are delighted to provide Mega Maldives Airlines with SMART; it gives the airline the confidence that AOG events can be reacted to expeditiously and with minimum fuss.”
Jon Neumann, Deputy Director, Engineering and Maintenance for Mega Maldives Airlines said: “The repairs carried out on our Boeing 757 aircraft was a huge success. Monarch’s experience and expertise has shown that having such a team available at short notice, coupled with their professional approach, is the reason why we selected SMART to provide us with this support.”
